Eventually we’ll find out what Bryce’s registered name is but for now, he’s our star patient. A few years ago he found himself in an auction where compassionate people brought him home and got him healthy again. His little girl loved riding him, and trying to do some low level jumps even though they weren’t supposed to.
This past summer Bryce stuck his left rear hoof through some wire and nearly degloved his heel bulb. He did nick an artery but somehow missed all the tendons, muscles, and bones. After a few surgeries and several weeks inpatient he came to us to finish his rehabilitation.
We’ll evaluate his riding level once he’s cleared to exercise under saddle again. It’s going to be a little while since he has to rebuild the muscle that atrophied while he was on stall rest.
